Australian indie rock sensations, Atlas Genius burst onto the scene earlier this year with "Trojans". As we wait patiently for their anticipated debut album, they finally offer a three-track EP to hold fans over. The churning drive of rumbling bass line and shimmering guitar on "Trojans", with the cool raspy vocals of Keith Jeffrey melodically twisting through, makes it one of the best indie rock tracks of the summer. The quartet takes a similar approach with the grooving bass and choppy riffs of "Back Seat", working well awash in the oozing synth and cool falsetto hook. The slick acoustic jangle ringing through the gristle of fuzzed out synth and tambourine-laced beats on "Symptoms" is brilliant, giving way to a gleaming acoustic guitar flutter in the solid hook as the band shows off a bit of diversity to their sound. In just three tracks, Atlas Genius deftly whet your appetite for their impending debut LP and confirm that their first addictive hit will not be their last.
