The squeaky strings inching through opening electro-pop bopper "Don't Run" make it clear that, Cincinnati duo, are not about to give up their love of looped strings on their sophomore album. The new wave vocals rolling through lovesick "Chasing" work brilliantly with the lush soundscape, but mellow piano pop ballad "Doubt" might give the album one too many soft spots. While the fuzzy bass groove of "Child" helps ease fears of a watered down sound, there is a definitely a lowered emphasis placed on guitar this time around. The buoyant piano and carefree strings of "Nursery Rhyme" find the pair drifting happily into eighties synth-pop territory, with the gooey music and the carefree music playing well together. They remain a compelling pop duo, but, despite how great moments like the strummy "I Turn Around" are, you cannot help but feel like this album's softer core is a bit of a letdown.
