From the start of the charmingly drizzled piano melody and off-kilter, sea-sawing vocals of "HEART", it is clear that Oberhofer puts a uniquely wonderful spin on indie pop. Brad Oberhofer's manic hook over a new wave kissed xylophone and guitar riff blend on "Landline" is a blissful blast nearly impossible not to smile along to. The jittery waves of adoration on Beach Boys leaning "Crusin' FDR" might be a bit too silly, but there is a charm to the vibrant, ramshackle album that makes it all work. The tumbling beat and softly humming organ of "Yr Face", sparklingly whistled "I Could Go", and freewheeling shimmer of "oOoO" all deliver an infectious blend of melody and feel-good pop music that is hard to turn away from. Those looking for an easy entry point should hit the twee xylophone and thumping drums of "Away Frm You" first, but the rest of the gloriously antsy album will quickly win you over just as easily.
