The dearth of strong female-fronted rock bands seems to be nearing an end, with bands like, The Dead Weather, Company Of Thieves, and Paramore leaving their mark in the music landscape. Based on their fiery debut, add, LA quartet, Dead Sara to that list. The blend of Emily Armstrong's emotionally wailing vocals and Siouxsie Medley's burly guitar-work makes for some fantastic listening on tracks like power ballad "Dear Love" and the bluesy rock punch and banshee wailing grit of "I Said You Were Lucky". The swirling strut of riffs and Armstrong's manic vocals on "Test On My Patience" recalls Joan Jett, while the grace and beauty of twinkling "Sorry For It All" show that the band is equally effective when softening their sound a bit.
