The dual-vocalist, blues-kissed UK trio, Band Of Skulls returns with a spectacular sophomore album. The slithering guitar and menacing beat of the title-track seductively pulls you in only to punch you in the gut with the rest of the album leaving you perplexed as to how they are not yet a household name. The eerily alluring harmonies of Emma Richardson and Russell Mardsen add a touch of unexpected sweetness to snarling "You're Not Pretty But You Got It Going On" and turn "Bruises" into a heartbreaker, at least when the thrusting riffs are not roughing you up. The antsy layers of sharp-edged sound on tracks like dazzling "Wanderluster" and stomping blues swagger of "The Devil Takes Care Of His Own" only adds to the enticing package as the trio deliver their slick pop sensibilities in a face-melting rock n roll package.
Seek: "You're Not Pretty But You Got It Goin' On", "Sweet Sour", "Bruises"
