Transit's Tim Landers and This Time Next Year's Brad Wiseman combine forces for pop-punk duo Misser's debut. The ragged harmonies work well on the grumbling rocker "Bad News" but on the album's more shouted tracks, like the fiery "Reconnect This" and frayed ends of "The Waits", things start to unravel. Thankfully, things work more often than not, with the chugging grit of break-up tune "Time Capsules" shining with sparkling guitar and a great angst fueled hook. The pair's vocals get a little disjointed and clunky on "Weightless", compared to how well things meld together on tracks like "Bridges", but the live-wire guitar work more than makes up for it. The pair turn their disdain for the state of radio and reality TV into a clever shout-along anthem on "I'm Really Starting To Hope The World Ends In 2012", while the burly guitar driven power pop of "Just Say It" and slippery riffs sliding through "She Didn't Turn Out To Be That Cool" will keep this strong debut blaring in your car all summer.
