Former Menomena member, Brent Knopf returns with his solo project's second effort, largely picking up where 2009's Intuit left off. Knopf's mellow vocals awash in a tense blend of rumbling bass, twinkling piano, and tense drums turns "Divide By Zero" into taut, guitar-speckled thriller, while the jabbing keys plucking through "bodies Of Water" offer a more elegant look at Ramona Falls' carefully crafted sound. While Knopf is busy hypnotizing your ears with breezy vocals, the layers of sound he meticulously crafts on each song makes the album infinitely listenable as new elements reveal themselves each time you hear them. The blend of humming synth oozing through shooting strings and mix of threatening riffs and strummy acoustic bliss that makes up "Spore" is nothing short of indie pop magic. The swarm of fuzzy bass groove, forceful horns, and thrusting riffs that make up the shifty tantrum in the hook of "Sqworm" is a perfect display of Ramona Falls' ability to win you over with shock and awe between moments of languid beauty and hauntingly mystical vocals.
